Travelling Oz in our Beast ...

Bull Bar – We have been lucky enough to have been introduced to a local 4X4 enthusiast who does a spot of steel fabrication in his spare time. Our design has been professionally transformed into a real live ‘Bull Bar’ by Adrian of FeralTech & looks understatedly mean!

Have to agree looks mean!

Winch – We did a lot of research on this area of our safety and recovery, settling on the Pioneer 9000 winch. It turns out it is a Taiwanese product with an awfully good reputation. The winch has been buried deep into the chassis and as such we have not lost any of the entry angle that was a key criteria for the purchase of the Defender. Again Feraltech did a great job in the design and manufacture of our Bull-bar, $AUD 1600.

Added design touch with hinges on the number plate in order to access the winch ... whilst still remaining hidden! Thanks again Overland4WD.

Note

Our prerequisites for the bull bar to accommodate a low slung winch, be comparable with LightForce 240 spot lights, & the Codan HF whip aerial have all been met. Our other requirement to maintain our entry exit angles has also met. At the time the cost of Bull Bar was $1100 which included the powder coating.

Again thanks to Overland4WD for the intro to our ‘FeralTech’.
