Inside Rear

Utilising the space in the rear of the Defender proves to be quite a challenge. What with only a 71 cm area of usable rear door access space the design ’wastes‘ at least 20cm because of the rear door operation!

After considerable thought going into addressing this area of the vehicle we have finally traveled full circle and come back to a ‘kit’ solution. A sliding draw with dividers fills the tray area providing a flat surface at wheel arch height.

To this we have attached a fridge slide for our National Luna® 52 litre weekend Fridge.

A duel battery for the National Luna® is positioned behind the fridge.

A cargo barrier is bolted to the floor of the vehicle & extends to the roof.

... which at the same time acts as a holder for the HF Radio.

Future

We have investigated the option of having rear side windows that swing out & up to provide easier access to kit in the rear ... the perfect solution ... a Gullwing Door.
